Walden Road Crew Kept Busy

WALDEN – The Walden Select Board met at the town office on November 9. Present were select board members Brenda Huntoon and Randolph Wilson in person, and Bob Hatch via Zoom.

The report from the road crew noted that the International truck was repaired in two days and is back in service and that the illegal road sign on Stone Lane was replaced with a Class 4 sign. The road crew did several Class 4 road repairs and gravel from the Walden pit was used on Corner road and Coles Pond Road, Class 4.

A complaint from a resident about Old Duke Road was investigated: it is passable, with an active logging operation creating minor use damage, which will be temporary. Also, Cabot Road pavement repair is scheduled. The board approved a $30,000 estimate using the highway stimulus of $23,814.54, with the balance coming from the capital improvement fund. The board thanked the road crew for all their hard work.

The next Walden Select Board meeting will be held on November 23, at 6:30 pm., at the town office.
