Hardwick Children’s Holiday Project Kicks Off its 20th Year

HARDWICK – The Hardwick Children’s Holiday Project 2020 is ready to kick-off its 20th year of providing donated gifts of toys, games, books and hats & mittens to the many area families with children birth to 17 years in need of assistance, so they may continue a tradition of holiday giving. For 20 years, a small group of volunteers have collected and distributed these donations to families from throughout the OSSU (Hardwick, Craftsbury, Greensboro, Greensboro Bend, Stannard, Wolcott, Woodbury) and Walden.

Seven years ago, the Holiday Project found a home at the United Church of Hardwick, but due to COVID-19 we need to change things up. We will still be collecting donations to distribute to families, but we have had to adjust how we do it for everyone’s safety. Boxes will be put together by a small number of volunteers and families will be given a time to pick up their box (location to be determined) between Saturday, Dec. 5 and Sunday, Dec. 13. Parents are asked to be very specific in what they ask for, for their child. We can’t guarantee they will get exactly what they ask for, but we are going to try our best!

Please consider a donation of hats, gloves and mittens to help us give children a gift for Christmas. If you have any questions, you can call Lottie at 793-9131, or Lee Ann at 274-3741. Thank you in advance for your help and support.
